Pelebon Ceremony at Puri Agung Ubud: Honoring Revered Figures

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, the majestic Puri Agung Ubud hosted the ceremonial farewell for the esteemed Tjokorda Bagus Santaka, a revered figure in Ubud. This vibrant Pelebon ceremony was a key part of Pitra Yadnya, a sacred cremation ritual designed to guide the soul back to the divine Creator (Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa).

The ceremony was highlighted by an impressive 25-meter-long Bade, the ornate platform that carried the deceased, and was accompanied by the resplendent Lembu and Naga Banda. The Lembu, draped in a striking purple hue and known as Lembu Tangi, symbolized extraordinary strength and renewal.

A multitude of participants, both locals and visitors, gathered in awe to witness this cultural spectacle. The procession, a lively parade, journeyed from Catus Pata Ubud to Setra Dalem Puri, drawing crowds eager to experience this extraordinary tribute.
